Adriel Fenton Defensive Coordinator/ Head Coach
In his first year at Dallas Carter High School , Adriel Fenton will serve on the staff as a defensive coach as well as working with the kickers directly. Fenton arrives in Dallas with 14 years of coaching experience, including the past 4 as a special teams coach. Fenton finished his 2008 season as the Dallas Desperados special teams/defensive quality control coach. The Desperados finished the season with a 12-4 record to become the only team in AFL history to record three consecutive seasons with 12-or-more wins.

In 2008, Special teams were highlighted by Josh Bush who finished second in the league with four kickoffs returned for touchdowns and second in the league with a return average of 21.3 yards. Will Pettis, Ironman of the Year for the second consecutive season finished the season with 43 returns for 741 yards for a 17.2 average. Dallas ranked second in the league (first in the conference) with an average start at the 14.2-yard line. The Desperados kick coverage team held opponents to a league low 15.1 yard-per-kickoff return average. With Remy Hamilton, the AFL’s All-Time leader in field goals made and attempted, Dallas ranked first in the AFL in onside kicks recoveries with six.

Defensively, Colston Weatherington posted a career-best 10.5 sacks to lead the league as well as tying a franchise record for most sacks in a single season. He was named AFL Lineman of the Year for the second time in three years along with his third consecutive All-Arena First Team selection.

In 2007, he worked with a Desperados defense that held opposing quarterbacks to the second-lowest completion percentage (59.0), intercepted the second-most passes (23) and allowed 706 total points. The defense was led by the 2007 Ironman of the year Will Pettis. Defensively, he notched 59.5 tackles, eight pass breakups, three interceptions, two tackles for loss, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. He also worked with the offense that put out 7 all arena players. Devin Wyman, Terrance Dotsy, Colston Weatherington, Duke Pettijohn,Clint Dolezel,Josh White, and Jermaine Jones.

The Desperados 2006 defense was the stingiest in the league, allowing just 44.4 points-per-game. They intercepted 24 passes, forced 18 fumbles, posted 18 sacks and notched four safeties on the year. The defense also forced stops on 48% of their opponents' drives through the final 11 games of the season. The performance of the defense also helped produce the AFL's Lineman of the year in Colston Weatherington.

Fenton began his coaching career in 1996 as the defensive backs coach at Detroit Mumford High School . The following year, he became the defensive coordinator for the varsity team holding this position for the next three seasons (1997-2000), continuing to coach the secondary directly. A Michigan native and a graduate of Wayne State University , Fenton now resides in Grand Prairie , Texas .
Ken Fenton, Offensive Coordinator
Entering his first season as Head Coach for Detroit Mumford High School , Ken Fenton already ranks among some of the most successful coaches, with accomplishments that include winning multiple National Championships, City Championships and overseeing an offense that has changed the Mustangs drastically. Fenton has also instilled a winning culture within the school since his arrival by stressing responsibility, character and accountability. He has rebuilt the roster and put together a staff of coaches that is deep in teachers of the fundamentals.

Fenton and his staff took over just prior to the 2007 season at Detroit Pershing High School, where he also instilled a winning culture within the school, turning around the program in just 2 years. Fenton went to Detroit Pershing after spending a season at the collegiate level at Wayne State University.

Fenton solidified his reputation as one of the game's brightest offensive minds in his first stint at Detroit Mumford, as offensive coordinator from 1997-2003. He also spent time as the offensive coordinator of the 4 time National Champion Detroit Demolition from 2003-2007.

The Detroit Demolition is recognized among the elite teams in the rapidly emerging sport of women’s full-contact football. The Demolition compiled a record of 45-1 beginning with their inaugural season in 2002. This record consists of 42 straight wins, which are the most consecutive victories by any professional or semi-professional sport.

Fenton, a graduate of Detroit Mumford High School and Wayne State University currently resides in Detroit, MI.
