TRIUMPHANT SPORTS BOWL & TASTE OF MESA SET TO TAKE THE VALLEY SPOTLIGHT - December 15, 2008

Mesa, Ariz. – The Triumphant Sports Bowl: A Junior College All-Star Game is set to welcome the nation’s premiere Junior College football players, Saturday, December 15th at Dobson High School in Mesa, Arizona to celebrate football. For those that have been eager to try some new dishes at your favorite establishment, the Taste of Mesa will serve up specialties from over 50 East Valley restaurants/vendors and will feature an entertainment stage with local talent throughout the day with a national headliner as a finale to the day’s event.

Remember the Taste of Mesa is not your average culinary celebration. Bowl organizers are expecting both events to bring 15,000 football fans and food enthusiasts to Mesa for a fun-filled day of activities and games for the entire family. Doors for the Taste of Mesa open at 10:00 AM. Three ticket price levels are available for purchase: $45.00 (V.I.P.), $35.00, $25.00 and $7.00 for children. Proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of the East Valley and Triumphant Youth Sports of Chandler, a local non-profit organization that helps promote youth sports.

Along with some of Arizona’s signature dishes patrons at the Taste of Mesa can sample offerings from some of the state’s top gourmet chefs. With a variety of foods to choose from such as: Mexican, Italian, Chinese, Greek, Cuban, Jamaican, and Middle Eastern, Nobody’s taste buds will be left out at the Taste of Mesa.

The 110 football players will be divided into two teams, TEAM California (CA) and TEAM USA. The game will be nationally televised on ION Media to 38 Million homes across the U.S. A gala will coincide with the All-Star Game on December 14th, 2007 in honor of the players, sponsors and the community at the Sheraton in Phoenix. A silent auction will also be held featuring autographed items from NFL & NBA players, gift baskets, restaurant gift certificates, hotel, travel, and packages.

Current and former NFL players will be in attendance for a meet and greet autograph session. Live local Arizona music performances will take place throughout the day and two celebrity DJs are planning to spin a relaxing blend of music perfect for the Saturday event.
